Genovo is ready to use straight out of the box and has a range of support resources to help new users get up and running quickly and efficiently.  We appreciate that there’s always a bit of a learning curve involved in getting to grips with any new software. Hence, we've created a programme of self-help video tutorials designed to get you from zero to hero in 75 minutes and 13 seconds (the total length of all the video tutorials).

The programme is broken down into 10 key stages, with each stage containing a video tutorial and relevant key articles from the Genovo Knowledge Base. The video tutorials assume you already know your way around Genovo and are designed to be viewed in sequence.

Stage 1 – The fundamentals

First – you need to know about the five Genovo report types.

Stage 2 – Starting a report

Next, it’s how to start the report-writing process and the three report creation methods.

After starting a report, the next step is to understand how the Report Builder works.

Stage 4 – The Introduction section

Genovo reports adhere to the principles of the Plain English Campaign and they all have a beginning, middle and end. All Genovo Report Types have an Introduction section, and this video shows you how to complete it.

Stage 6 – The Client Risk Profile section

The Client Risk Profile section “does what it says on the tin”. It allows you to record the client's attitude to investment risk, capacity for loss, knowledge and experience as well as their investment preferences.

Stage 7 – Review sections

Reviewing and managing a client’s existing plans is just as important as making new recommendations. The four review sections in Genovo (investments, pensions in accumulation, pensions in decumulation and protection) are where you do this.

Stage 8 – Recommendation sections

As the name suggests, a recommendation section is where you add new plans that you’re recommending (recommended actions for existing plans are dealt with in the appropriate review section – see above).

Stage 9 – The Recommended Investment Strategy section

A Genovo report requires this section if you’re recommending:

  1. A revised investment strategy for an existing plan; or
  2. A new plan that requires an investment strategy.
