A Writer user can be converted to a Reader user and a Reader user can be converted to a Writer user. To do this, go to Account Admin > Manager Users.
Next, click the pencil icon for the user that you want to change. In the example below, we're editing a Reader user and the button shows 'Convert to writer user'.
If the 'Convert to writer user' (or 'Convert to reader user') button doesn't show, this would suggest you don't have any available spare user licences left on your account. Contact us to request more user licences are added, or upgrade your Genovo plan.
When converting a user in either direction, you'll be asked to confirm the change, after which the user will then be converted and moved to the appropriate section of the Manage Users page.
Note that any Reader user being converted to a Writer user will be given the Account User role by default and View all users' clients / reports will be turned off. You can change these if required by clicking on the Edit pencil icon and changing the user role and/or selecting the View all users' clients / reports checkbox.
When converting a Reader user to a Writer user, the new user must also set up their login credentials. This can be done in one of two ways:
1) The Account Owner or Account Admin of the account can generate a password reset email. To do this, edit the new Writer user by clicking on the pencil icon and then click the Send password reset email button.
2) Alternatively, after providing the new writer user with the URL to log into Genovo (https://app.genovo.co.uk), ask the new user to click the Forgot password link on the login page and they'll be sent a password reset email.
